Band Backer Information

This organization is for the parents of all band members from grades 6-12 as well as anyone willing to lend a hand to support the Viking Band. It is a way for parents and community members to get involved with children, and with the band program.

The $15 fee for being a member of the Backer Organization is included in the uniform fee, so all parents of band members who have paid their uniform fee are Band Backer members. Other community members that wish to be involved with the Backers will need to pay the $15 dues to be permitted to vote. We ask that you be an active participant at the meetings and various other activities. Meetings are the First Tuesday night of each month (unless another time is specified at the previous meeting) and usually take about an hour.

There are many opportunities for parent involvement throughout the school year. We need involvement and commitment for each of our parents, so that we can make the band program the best that it can be and something to be proud of. Don’t wait to be called and asked, go ahead and volunteer. No band program can succeed without an active band backer organization. Please lead by example and show your child that your support his or her activities.
